What is included in my purchase?
Our standard package includes 12 months of fortnightly prompt emails for one person, and one hardcover storybook with up to 60 pages included. At the end of 12 months, you can continue to work on your book. You will have up to 5 years to complete your book. After that time, we delete your stories from our system.
Can I purchase extra books?
Yes, you can purchase as many additional books as you want. Give them to friends and family. The pricing for additional copies of your book is as follows:
• $75 per book
Please take the time to carefully review your book’s interior preview before ordering, as we cannot offer reprints for errors that were present in the preview.
If you are ordering a large number of books, we recommend ordering one copy first. That way, you are able to see the book in person, and can make any necessary corrections through contacting us to edit specific information, prior to ordering multiples. Editing fees apply to changes we make on your behalf. These would be discussed with you based on the number of edits required.
Can I gift a Your Life Story Book?
Yes, absolutely. Your Life Story Books are a great gift idea, especially for those who ‘have everything’. It is the gift which will show the how much you appreciate them, by asking them to share all about themselves. In return, you will be able to read all their stories for years to come.
To purchase as a gift, when at checkout, select the box ‘is this a gift?’ and this will prompt you through to adding the gift receivers details post purchase. You can also print a voucher for them to have.
To purchase multiple book packages in one transaction, please contact us at support@yourlifestorybook.au to assist with the transaction and vouchers and a special multiple book packages offer.
Is there a word or page limit to my stories?
Our printer can print books up to 100 pages. As the size of the pages are quite large, we allow for up to 5000 characters per response. If a story goes longer, send it to us directly and we can add it for you. In practice, few people run into this limitation. If your book exceeds 100 pages, you may purchase additional books that will then be volumes of your stories. Ultimately there is no limit.
Can I include photos? How many can I add?
Yes, depending on your package you can add a minimum of 3 photo’s per question. We know how photos can say so much. To include a photo, simply attach it with your story before you submit each story.
We support standard photo formats such as JPEG and PNG, but please do not submit photos as a PDF file.
High resolution photos are printed at 300 dpi. Smaller photos may be printed at 150dpi.
What do the books look like? Can I customize the cover?
The books are 28cm x 21.5cm, landscape, hardcover book. The font is Arimo, size 13.7. We have found this font easy to read and looks lovely in your book. Formatting such as italics, bold, or underline need to be within your provided answers. Responses are published exactly as they are provided in your responses. The books include photos. The best way method is to add photos to each story as you go.
All covers can be customized with a photo and a title/your name, and some cover styles allow for different colours.
Can I choose the questions?
You can choose your questions from our library, or even write your own, so you have full flexibility with the topics you can write about.
Can more than one person write in the same book?
Each purchase is for one book, with one set of questions. Depending on package is to how many questions you can answer. We recommend each story teller has their own book. If once complete, you want to combine books, please contact us directly to discuss your request.
How will my story look in the printed book?
To see how the story will be formatted, you will receive a preview for review prior to printing. We strongly recommend proof reading all of your responses as once you approve and submit your book will be printed as it appears. This will download a PDF to show you exactly how the story (and photos) will appear in your book. You can then review and make edits as needed.
What is your return policy?
If for any reason you’re not thrilled with your Your Life Story Book purchase, we offer full refunds within 30 days, as long as no books have been printed. Printed books can not be returned or exchanged. Request a refund.
How long does it take for orders to be delivered?
Upon purchasing Your Life Story Book, the recipient will be prompted to create their account where all their stories will be collected. As soon as it is created, then can get started straight away!
This a great last minute gift, since you will receive instant access to start writing stories straight away. Your Life Story Book gifts can be delivered the same day via email (you can also print a gift card at home). Your gift recipient will receive a weekly email with a question about their life, and at the end of the year they can order a beautiful hardcover book of their stories.
With standard shipping, hardcover books take approximately 10 business days to deliver from the day they are ordered.
Can we post internationally?
Shipping within Australia is included in our standard package. For other destinations, contact our friendly team at support@yourlifestorybook.au and we would be more than happy to assist you.
Our books are manufactured and posted from Australia. In addition to the postage costs that we charge at the time of ordering, some countries may collect customs or import fees that would need to be paid by the recipient at the time of delivery.
Can you respond in a foreign language?
Our printing software supports languages using the English alphabet at this time. We do hope to add support for more languages in the future. If you would like to know if your language is currently supported, please feel free to contact us at support@yourlifestorybook.au.
What happens if my stories get archived after 5 years?
Due to server space, after 5 years of inactivity, your stories will be deleted. We will give you many notifications well in advance and if your needing help to finish, please reach out at support@yourlifestorybook.au. Our goal is for you to have your stories captured in a beautiful book to share with your loved ones.
